Belleair Country Club
« on: February 12, 2010, 11:25:02 AM »
The Belleair Country Club is my favorite private course because it's the only one I can get on!  My parents have had a membership there for almost two decades.  They have two 18 hole championship courses and it's always in great shape.  The greens are sooo fast there and you need to avoid the fairway bunkers at all costs!

Below is a picture from last month when I knocked it stiff with a 5 iron on #12, a 170 yard par 3 on the West Course.  It rolled right past the hole and I wish it went in for a hole-in-one.  Unfortunately I missed the 4 foot "downhill-slider" birdie putt, dammit.

My brother Dan almost had a hole-in-one that day on the 200 yard par 3 #8.  His shot stopped a foot from the hole and of course he made that birdie putt.

Here's some more photos from Belleair CC from last week when we played there.  My brother and friends came in from Ohio and Chicago, so 10 of us played for 3 days in a row.  It was chilly but sunny.  The grass is still dormant because of the cold winter in Florida, but it will green up soon!

My Dad, brother Dan and I played the Belleair CC East course yesterday.  Here's two photos of hole #14 which is the signature hole of the East course.  That's my ball in the fairway.  My second shot to the green was about 175 yards downhill but into the sea breeze.

The second photo shows the green (with my ball on it) and Dan holding the flag.  Plus you can see Clearwater Bay and the condos on Sand Key in the distance.

I had a good day... I shot 87 which is my best score so far this year!

Dad and I played the West course yesterday so my wife took some pictures of hole #6 which runs along Clearwater Bay.  The views are spectacular.
